Board of Education
The Habersham County Board of Education consists of five members elected from separate single-member districts of approximately equal population.
The fundamental role of the Board of Education is to establish a policy for the local school system with a focus on student achievement. The fundamental role of the School Superintendent is to implement the policy established by the Board.
It is not the role of the Board of Education or individual members of such Board to micromanage the Superintendent in executing his or her duties, but it is the duty of the Board to hold the School superintendent accountable in the performance of his or her duties.
