Emergency 911 Dispatch

Habersham County E-911 Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is responsible for answering all 911 calls for residents of Habersham County.

Communications Center personnel dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services for unincorporated Habersham County and the cities of Alto, Baldwin, Clarkesville, Cornelia, Demorest, Mt. Airy and Tallulah Falls.

Residents are provided quick access to emergency services by a team of highly-trained and dedicated personnel.

Even though the 911 Center has multiple functions, there are two primary job functions within the Communications Center.

  • Answer and process 9-1-1 calls to help ensure a timely response to all emergency incidents within Habersham County.
  • Provide notification and/or dispatch services for user agencies as they relate to the delivery of emergency services.

The center is equipped with the latest technology in order to maintain Habersham County's commitment to quality service.

Habersham County Central Dispatch is the primary link between the public and the professional services of all public safety units in Habersham County.

It is the responsibility of Central Dispatch to process each call through caller interrogation and to determine if an emergency exists. It is the responsibility of Central Dispatch to provide telephone assistance, send the appropriate response, and communicate necessary information to police, fire, EMS and other rescue responders.
